Introduction for Applicants
Thank you for your interest in our Combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics program. LAC+USC Medical Center serves a large underserved population with an incredible range and depth of pathology which leads to an outstanding clinical education for our residents. Our faculty is dedicated to teaching and very supportive of resident research projects.
The training in LAC+USC’s Med+Peds program is primarily at the LAC+USC Medical Center. We also spend a portion of our training at other affiliated locations such as Juvenile Hall, Norris Cancer Center, USC University Hospital, and Children’s Hospital of LA. We look for motivated residents with a strong emphasis in serving the underserved and patient advocacy.
The first two years of training are focused on developing a strong foundation in general medicine and pediatrics with alternating medicine and pediatrics clinics.
The third and fourth year are dedicated to integrating those experiences through experiences such as our Med+Peds clinic and Med+Peds ambulatory rotation. We have a strong tradition of teaching, and our residents been honored with teaching awards from medical students as well as many offers for chief residency. We are located in Los Angeles, an amazingly large and diverse city with an amazing array of things to do within a relatively short distance.
We coordinate our interviews through our Med+Peds GME office (see address and contact information below). More details can be found in the “Applying” section of this website.
Applications should be made through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). We look forward to meeting you. If you have questions prior to your interview, feel free to call us.
