Why LAC+USC: I decided to come to LAC+USC because the people here are amazing and passionate about helping their patients. I love the variety and diverse pathology we see. I also really wanted to serve the underserved population and saw this a great way of doing that.
Plans after residency: I will be staying for an additional year as 5th year med/peds chief. I hope to work in an academic center in primary care med/peds, seeing my own patients but also teaching residents. I’d also like to be involved in hospital administration.

I don't enjoy getting sunburnt but genetics are against me. Why LAC+USC: More  than once in medical school I met a patient who had been told by an outside  hospital that they likely had cancer, but since they didn't have insurance they  couldn't be worked up or treated there. I realized that I always wanted to work  at the hospital where patients knew they could come regardless of insurance,  citizenship or socioeconomic status. To be able to look at those patients and  tell them that we will take care of them is a very rare opportunity for  physicians and it's the reason I wanted to stay at LAC+USC.
